ASTER Transfer Camps

KU 2025 transfer camp:
July 27-30
- Camp application portal available below
- Priority will be given to applications submitted on or before March 15th, 2025
- Acceptance letters sent by April 1, 2025
- Transfer students to KU are assured admission with 24+ transferable credit hours at a GPA of 2.5 or higher from a regionally accredited community college, college, or university.
- More information can be found on the KU Transfer website.
- At this time, KU cannot offer automatic admission for the ASTER scholars since we must follow the admission guidelines.
UNL 2025 transfer camp:
August 17-20
- Camp application portal available below
- Priority will be given to applications submitted on or before March 15th, 2025
- Acceptance letters sent by April 1, 2025
- Transfer students to UNL are assured admission with 24+ transferable credit hours at a cumulative GPA of 2.0+ and a 2.0+ GPA in the most recent term of attendance.

PSU 2025 transfer camp:
June 16-19
- Camp application portal available below
- Priority will be given to applications submitted on or before March 15th, 2025
- Acceptance letters sent by April 1, 2025
- Transfer students to PSU are assured admission with 24+ transferable credit hours at a cumulative GPA of 2.0+/4.0.

If you are graduating within 18 months of your application, you are eligible to apply and participate. Eligible students for the 2025 sessions are those considering transferring between May 2025-January 2027.
Yes! The camp is designed to be a learning experience. If you are not sure about transferring or where you want to transfer to, you're still eligible to apply to the program.
Yes! We will format the schedule to include broad topics around being successful at a 4-year institution.
Yes! Priority will be given to applicants in the following order:
- ASTER LSAMP scholars at JCCC, KCKCC, or SCC-Lincoln
- LSAMP scholars at community colleges from other alliances (e.g., OK-LSAMP, Kansas LSAMP, MO-LSAMP, etc.)
- non-LSAMP scholars at community colleges interested in transferring to KU, PSU, or UNL
- non-LSAMP scholars at community colleges interested in transferring to a 4-year higher education institution
The application link is at the bottom of this webpage. You will need to include a recommendation letter from a faculty, staff, or ASTER leadership team member as part of your application.
Yes! The camp is designed to build community but we understand other obligations. Students commuting would need to plan around a full schedule including some after-dinner activities.
Most students will be assigned to 2-person shared dormitory spaces based on their interests and application materials. If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in transfer camps, please contact aster@ku.edu.
